Allison Petty, O.D., is an optometrist with advanced clinical training in ocular disease and primary care. She completed her residency at Clayton Eye Center in Morrow, Georgia, where she provides comprehensive medical eye care, manages ocular disease and participates in surgical co-management.

Dr. Petty earned her Doctor of Optometry from the Kentucky College of Optometry. She has completed rotations in ocular disease, surgical co-management, specialty contact lenses, low vision and laser procedures. Her clinical training includes externships at Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, Georgia and the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

Dr. Petty holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with a pre-health concentration from Western Carolina University.

Before entering optometry school, Dr. Petty worked for more than a decade as a licensed optician and optical manager. Her extensive background in both patient care and optical services shapes her thorough, patient-centered approach to vision health.

Dr. Petty has held leadership roles as president of the American Society of Optometric Surgeons at KYCO and vice president of the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity club. She also served as a clinic coordinator for Remote Area Medical, providing care in underserved areas across rural Appalachia.

Her clinical excellence and community engagement have been recognized with several honors, including the Dr. Ronald McCoy Community Service Award, the Dr. Michael and Kelly Bacigalupi Family Award for Advanced Therapeutics and the Eschenbach Low Vision Student Award.

Dr. Petty is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that empowers patients to take charge of their eye health. Outside of her practice, Dr. Petty enjoys spending time with her two rescue dogs, Maddox and Gulliver. They enjoy hiking and exploring new places!
